Lone Løvschal silver for the senses

Designer an d Silversmith Lone Løvschal believes that the pleasure of dining, be it daily or occasional, can be intensified through seductive and enjoyable tableware, just like the food itself. By using organic and fluid forms, curved elegant lines and a strong graphic idiom She creates objects for the senses.

Her work takes its starting point in the way we intend to use the objects in our daily life.

She finds great pleasure in designing for mass production as well as limited series or one-offs, and the way a piece of work is made is always of great interest to her.Technical considerations are not a hindrance to her creativity, if anything they feed into the development of a design.

Spoons have a special place in her heart, due to their friendly and feminine character, but also because they represent everyday life, from birth to death, and always have done. When forging a spoon from a bar of silver she feels very happy; and it gives her great pleasure to transform a piece of raw metal into something so useful and elegant.

Lone Løvschal was trained as a Silversmith at Georg Jensen Silversmiths in Copenhagen and has a Master of Art from the Royal College of Art in London. Together with friends she runs a workshop in Copenhagen. Her work is part of many private and public collections, f.e. Kunstindustrimuseet, København, Museum of Koldinghus, Kolding and the Collection at the Royal College of Art London, and was awarded many times.
